Every route to Raja Ampat passes through Sorong (SOQ) in Southwest Papua. Fly Jakarta–Sorong in about 4–4.5 hours, Makassar–Sorong in about 3–3.5, Manado–Sorong in about 2.5, then cross to Waisai by fast ferry in around two hours or be collected by your vessel. Entry fees in 2026 total IDR 1,700,000 for foreign visitors and IDR 650,000 for Indonesians.
Raja Ampat has no international airport and no direct long-haul flight. That single fact shapes every itinerary: you are booking a domestic connection inside Indonesia, and the tightness of that connection is the main thing that goes wrong. This page lays out the three moving parts — flights, the sea crossing, and the fees — with the numbers that are actually published and clear flags on the ones that are not.
