Junior Suite Balcony (Cabins 201–204)

The Junior Suite Balcony cabins — 201, 202, 203 and 204 — sit on LASHA Cruise’s main deck. Each has a double bed, a private balcony over the water and a marble ensuite with rain shower; cabins 203 and 204 take an optional extra bed for a third guest. Four of ten ensuite cabins aboard.

Ranged along the main deck, each Junior Suite pairs a double bed with a private balcony over the water and a marble ensuite with rain shower — and in cabins 203 and 204, an optional extra bed turns the room into a two-to-three-guest suite.

Private balconies remain rare on traditional phinisi, where cabin walls usually meet the bulwark and the deck outside belongs to everyone. LASHA’s 10.3-metre beam — on a 52.5-metre, 466 GT hull launched in 2023 — is what makes a full row of balconied cabins possible: all six main-deck cabins open onto private balconies, and the four Junior Suites are the most attainable of them.

What is a private balcony worth in Komodo?

Komodo National Park was established in 1980 and inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991, and its three main islands — Komodo, Rinca and Padar — rise from the water like a stage set that keeps rearranging itself as the ship moves. A balcony converts every one of those transitions into a private event: the first ridgeline at sunrise, the pink-tinged bay before breakfast, the slow evening lights of Labuan Bajo on the last night.

The wildlife plays along. The park’s 2023 demographic survey estimated about 2,448 Komodo dragons inside the park boundaries, and while dragons stay firmly ashore, the sunset spectacle comes to you: at Kalong Island, thousands of flying foxes lift off at dusk and stream directly over the anchorage. It is the one moment on the itinerary best watched from your own rail, with a drink, in silence.

What is inside a Junior Suite?

A double bed under white-and-ivory joinery, brass-gold detailing, and a marble ensuite with rain shower — the same finish standard as the Master Suite Jacuzzi & Balcony one door aft. A full-height wardrobe absorbs a week of resort wear and dive kit; charter packing lists forget how much hanging space matters until about the third day.

The craft beneath the joinery is the deeper luxury. LASHA is built from Ulin ironwood and Jati teak in the Buginese phinisi tradition — a boatbuilding practice UNESCO inscribed as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2017, carried by the Konjo builders of Tana Beru, Ara and Lemo-Lemo in South Sulawesi. Ten ensuite cabins and up to 26 guests ride inside that heritage hull.

Which Junior Suite should your group take?

Cabins 201 and 202 are the pure couples’ rooms. Cabins 203 and 204 accept an optional extra bed, which quietly solves the hardest puzzle on a family charter: the child who is too old to share with siblings and too young for a cabin alone. Across the full vessel the four Junior Suites usually go to the couples and small families who want a balcony without claiming the jacuzzi suites. See how all ten cabins divide a group on the cabins & suites overview.

When should you sail?

Komodo’s dry season runs roughly April to October, according to liveaboard season guides, with the calmest seas and heaviest booking demand from May through August. Manta activity leans the other way — plankton-rich December to March is widely cited as the peak — so green-season charters trade a little rain for wings. Later in the year most luxury phinisi reposition to Raja Ampat for the October/November-to-April window, and LASHA follows that logic with Raja Ampat, Banda Sea, Wakatobi and Maratua charters of five nights or more.

How do rates work for a balcony suite?

There is no per-cabin price: LASHA sails as a full-boat charter, and the balcony suites are assigned within your group once the vessel is yours. Her maiden public sailing departs Labuan Bajo on 17 August 2026 — Indonesian Independence Day — and July–August weeks on luxury phinisi routinely book out six to twelve months ahead, according to operator season data.

2026–2027 rate snapshot. Komodo | Alor | Sumbawa | Lombok | Bali charters (minimum 2 nights): $700 per guest per night leisure or $750 dive, minimum 14 guests — whole-boat base $9,800 leisure / $10,500 dive per night for 1–14 guests, then +$700/$750 per added guest up to 22 guests ($15,400 / $16,500). Raja Ampat | Banda Sea | Wakatobi | Maratua charters (minimum 5 nights): $750 leisure / $800 dive per guest per night. Park entrance fees ($25 per guest per night on these routes) are additional — full tables and free-of-charge guest tiers on the 2026–2027 charter rates page.
